Resolution on 2232-V10-08 – Cell Tower at Sandburg Middle School

1) Whereas	Milestone Communications has applied to build a cell phone tower at Sandburg Middle School, and

2) Whereas	The tower will hold up to three carriers, and

3) Whereas	Two of the carriers will be T-Mobile and Verizon, both of whom have little or no cell coverage in the surrounding area, and

4) Whereas	The tower will replace an existing 80 foot light stanchion with a 115 foot pole that has lights at 80 feet and low profile flush mounted antennas above the lights, and

5) Whereas	Milestone Communications will plant 10-12 foot tall evergreen trees along the edges of the school fields where residents would be able to see the cell tower, and

6) Whereas	The administration of Sandburg Middle School supports the cell tower installation, and,

7) Whereas	Sandburg Middle School will receive approximately $30,000 when the tower is built and approximately $2,000 per year afterwards,

Therefore, Be It Resolved that the Mount Vernon Council of Citizens’ Associations supports 2232-V10-06 for the replacement of a light stanchion with a low profile flush mounted cell tower at Sandburg Middle School, as presented.
