The meeting schedule is:

 

Phase I (Groundwork): 2010

January 11th

Discuss MVCCA LRSP Process Plan/Schedule & Feedback Form with Committee and decide on draft process plan/schedule to discuss with MVCCA Board.

January 14th Discuss MVCCA LRSP Process Plan/Schedule & Feedback Form with MVCCA Board and ask for any input/feedback.
January 17th Forward MVCCA Committee Chairs MVCCA LRSP Feedback Form and request for information by 03/07/10 for MVCCA LRSP meeting on 03/08/10.
January 27th Inform MVCCA General Council of MVCCA LRSP Process Plan/Schedule and address any comments or questions.  Request that MVCCA General Council members present provide contacts and upcoming meetings of their association/organization.
February 8th Review draft of presentation for Council/Community organizations and create outreach teams with schedule & goals.
March 8th MVCCA LRSP Committee Meeting to discuss feedback forms received and begin organizing information for presentation to Council/Community organizations.
April 12th Finalize presentation for Council/Community organizations and update from outreach teams relating to their progress.  At this meeting Phase II of the Committee’s work including the Committee’s meetings shall be outlined and work of Phase II shall commence.
  Phase II (Outreach): April 12th – August 9th
 

Phase III (Follow Through):

September 13th Collect and organize the input provided and begin draft of MVCCA Long Range Strategic Plan.
October 11th Finalize the draft of MVCCA Long Range Strategic Plan for Council/Community meeting at which we will request any further feedback or input.
October 23rd MVCCA LRSP Community meeting to discuss draft of MVCCA Strategic Plan with community stakeholders.
November 8th Meet to review results from Community and finalize draft MVCCA Strategic Plan.
November 10th Send draft of MVCCA Strategic Plan to MVCCA Committee’s for final input.
December 13th Review input received from MVCCA Committee’s and finalize draft MVCCA Strategic Plan to be sent to MVCCA Board.
December 15th Send draft MVCCA Strategic Plan to MVCCA Board.
  2011
January 13th MVCCA Board review.  Upon MVCCA Board approval move forward to MVCCA General Council.
January 17th Send MVCCA Strategic Plan approved by Board to MVCCA Newsletter.
January 26th MVCCA General Council vote on MVCCA Strategic Plan
(Dates & Actions may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.)

The MVCCA Presents “Planning 101”

The Strategic Planning Special Committee was formed to develop a long term vision and plan for the Mount Vernon District and the Richmond Highway Corridor.

In January 2010 the citizens of Mount Vernon District will once again have an opportunity to make changes to the Comprehensive Plan. The member associations of the Mount Vernon Council need to start reflecting now on what changes should be submitted for consideration. In a broad sense, we need to develop a picture of what we think the District should look like in 10 - 20 years. The Comprehensive Plan is the means we have to realize that future.
